Readme.First

This is the first post of the first blog I’ve ever made. That already should illustrate what’s going to happen here. Expect the typical blunders, missteps and brief flashes of normalcy before cluelessness’ gloom closes back in on all of it.

Now then, as way of introduction, here’s a rundown of my vital information:

I was named, though not christened as it turns out, as Cesar Mateo Gonzalez Pearson, son of an Economist and a Lawyer in the fierce nation known as Colombia. I studied Literatura in the Universidad de los Andes, in Bogotá, the capital. I’m married to one Yamill Parodi, quite happily at that, and we currently live in Raleigh, the capital city of North Carolina, one of the United States.

Having said that, allow me to move on to the reasons for this blog:

I’ve been writing short bits of fiction for well a decade now. They needed somewhere to escape to. So, they’re here. You’ll see them float past from time to time, without much sense of order or connection. Well, there is none, so don’t concern yourself with finding one. Each one is its small world, spun and forgotten just as easily.

Those bits of fiction will be only one part of what will eventually end up on this page; I have too many interests, and they’ll end up on here in some way, I’m sure. There’s literary theory, videogames and all-round multimedia, history, politics, human rights, and others. All of these subjects will come to the foreground from time to time, for which I apologize in advance. Just like those stories you’ll see here, the theories and musings that’ll float past needed an outlet. Otherwise, the whole mess of them will stagnate in the confines of my skull.

There are other, practical reasons to create a blog. It’s a great way to showcase yourself, or so I’ve been led to believe. At this point, I need to be shown in the best possible light in order to successfully land a job in my adoptive country.

There are other reasons, existential and menial alike. Suffice to say, I’ve finally deemed those reasons as pressing enough to finally put the effort into signing up and exposing my writing to the world.

And so, here we are.

Incidentally, please don’t mind the Spanish. It happens, rather often in fact. Like everything else, nevertheless, it too shall pass.

I’ll make an effort to organize my posts according to the categories on the bar above this post. The pages are pretty self-explanatory.
